Queensland Volunteering Awards
Does your council have an initiative or program that enables volunteering?
In Queensland, volunteering plays a critical role in delivering essential community services. More than half of all charities and many government agencies rely on volunteers to provide vital support in areas such as sports, health services, disaster response, disability, aged care, arts, environmental conservation, beach patrols, and much more.
The Queensland Government is committed to recognising the value of volunteers and their contributions across the state and supporting the volunteering sector to grow.
This year, the Queensland Government is partnering with Volunteering Queensland to present the Queensland Volunteering Awards. We encourage you to consider nominating your initiatives or community programs that have made a difference in your community in the category Queensland Volunteering Impact Award - Government (Local or State), which recognises contributions from government entities.
For more information, including the nomination form, visit the Volunteering Queensland Awards website. Nominations close on 31 March 2026.
