Annual compliance plans and reports

The annual compliance program is a consolidation of the department's water resource management compliance priorities, and areas of focus that require a proactive and a planned approach.

Each year we create a plan for the year ahead and a report on the year completed.

The annual compliance planning and reporting cycle has five stages:

  • evaluate and plan
  • collaborate
  • develop
  • implement
  • monitor and report.
shows the five steps: plan, collaborate, develop, implement and monitor

We use this information to adopt a risk-based approach to our regulatory activities.

We focus on high risk behaviours and activities because they are most likely to have a negative impact on how we regulate and manage water sustainably.

For each area of focus, we identify and prioritise regulatory activities to manage risk and improve behaviour.
