Local Government (Empowering Councils) Amendment Act 2026

The Act is the first phase of legislative reform to re-empower Queensland’s local governments to reduce red tape and giving councils the resources and legislative framework needed to deliver for communities.

We are reviewing each of Queensland’s 23 water plans to identify improved strategies for ‘unlocking’ Queensland’s water resources.
