Focus area one: Build capability
Strong, capable and sustainable volunteer-involving organisations are essential to a thriving volunteer sector. They connect people with opportunities, support communities and create positive volunteer experiences.
Volunteering also happens through informal networks, local leadership and grassroots community action. Stronger connections across the sector can help organisations and communities share knowledge, build capability and support more Queenslanders to contribute.
Why this matters
Improving leadership, governance, volunteer management, collaboration and innovation will help organisations adapt to change and meet community needs. It will also support safe, inclusive and rewarding experiences that help volunteers feel supported and valued.
