Overview

Our vision

Queenslanders support each other and our communities to thrive. Across the state, volunteering is valued, rewarding and accessible, and everyone can easily get involved.

Why the plan is needed

Volunteering is changing. People are balancing work, study, caring responsibilities and cost-of-living pressures, while organisations face growing service demands, governance requirements and challenges attracting and retaining volunteers. At the same time, flexible volunteering, digital participation, skills-based volunteering, stronger partnerships and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games provide opportunities to reshape how people participate and contribute through volunteering.

A shared commitment

Achieving the plan’s vision will require sustained partnership. Volunteers, volunteer-involving organisations, communities, businesses, volunteer sector partners and all levels of government each have a role in creating safe, welcoming and rewarding opportunities to contribute.
