Details

The Pioneer Valley Water Management Protocol (October 2029) (water management protocol) is a statutory instrument which implements the Water Plan (Pioneer Valley) 2002 (Pioneer water plan). Both the Pioneer water plan and the water management protocol are currently under review and are proposed to be replaced. Public engagement will continue to inform the development of a replacement water plan and water management protocol.

An amendment to the water management protocol was required to extend current water management arrangements while the plan review and replacement process is underway. The amendment does not increase costs or the regulatory burden on business or the community and is not subject to RIA under the Queensland Government Better Regulation Policy (2023). This proposal is machinery in nature as the amendment does not result in a substantive change to regulatory policy or new impacts on business, government, or the community.
